Urban Decay Eyeshadow Alternative

Hi everyone!

Today I thought I would share with you my new eye shadow palette! I used some of the shades from this my my 'Off to the Ice Rink' look last week.

I have watched so many Youtube videos with everyone saying how much they love the Urban Decay Naked palette, but although I loved the look of it I thought it was quite expensive. This made me go on the hunt for an alternative which I found on Amazon: the w7 In the Buff Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. As it was so cheap I was a bit unsure as to whether it would be any good but I thought I would give it a go.

For this look I used the lighter colours because it was daytime, but I added a bit of sparkles because who doesn't love sparkles?!

After using it for the first time I would definitely recommend it. The colours are really pretty and so similar to the Urban Decay Naked eye shadow palette so I was really pleased with it. I am definitely going to use this in the future so I will leave the link down below if you would like to check it out:

I hope you enjoyed this post and there will be more posts on the way soon!

Short(er) Hair Don't Care

Hi everyone!

So on my last post I said I would be posting soon my new haircut, so here it is! I have always had long hair as long as I can remember and I never wanted to get it cut because I felt like I was known as the person with long blonde hair. On the other hand I always felt it was such a nightmare to wash and it took absolutely ages for it to dry and it drove me insane!

Before and After

Being 2015 and still super (well, reasonably) motivated I decided this year was the year to cut it short. I was then further encouraged when I saw that several of my favourite celebrities had cut their hair (like Zoella and Kim Kardashian) and saw how much they loved it.

I am super happy with my hair now, I got 8 inches cut off and I cut it styled so that's it's slightly shorter at the front. Now it's so much easier to keep and I think when I curl it the curls won't disappear half an hour later!

As I do more posts you'll see more what it is like and I think I might do a post when I curl it and let you know how it goes!

Thanks for reading this post which is almost as long as my old hair!

Off to the Ice Rink

Hi everyone!

Yesterday I went to my friend's ice skating party which was so much fun (even with two left feet)! I really enjoy ice skating and last went when I went to New York with my family at Christmastime and we went to the Central Park Ice Skating Rink in New York. So the scenery was a bit different being in an inside rink in England but I still really enjoyed it!

It took me a while to decide what to wear but I decided to choose my red trousers as the feature piece of my look. I love these trousers and I got them in Florida at Christmas. I thought they were perfect for this time of year because they're really bright and happy and worked for the preppy look I was going for. To achieve this look I also paired a navy blue jumper and white converse with my trousers. I also added a plaid bow in my hair to complete the look.

For my hair I did two plaits which I pinned on the back of my head and then I added a bow and did one plait to finish. The real reason I wanted to do something with my hair is because I knew I was going to go to the hairdresser's today and get quite a lot cut off my hair, so this week I have been doing my last plaits and hairstyles with my long hair! I will be putting up another post soon showing my dramatic hair chop!

Here are the links to my outfit (I am not posting the makeup I used as this will go up shortly in a separate post):

Trousers - Walmart
Jumper - Hollister (no longer in stock but here is one similar)
Shoes - Converse
Bow - Forever 21

A Mary Berry Bake

Hi everyone!

Yesterday I made a Victoria Sponge cake with my mum. This was so nice as I love baking but haven't had much time to do any lately - and also the perfect indulgence before Lent!

We used Mary Berry's recipe which was super easy to follow and didn't take much time to make at all! I'm sure that my cake is nowhere near what Mary Berry's version would look like but it tastes amazing and it was really fun to make and I loved having a piece of cake and cup of tea in the afternoon (I am the no.1 fan of afternoon teas!)

Here is the link to the recipe so I would totally recommend trying it out!

Valentine's Night

Hi everyone!

Today's post is a fashion post and it is an evening outfit themed for Valentine's Day. I wanted to keep this outfit quite simple with the colours so that the red would really stand out on the lips and the shoes, so I just chose the classic black because you can never go wrong with black!

I actually based this outfit around having a red lip because I felt that this was perfect for Valentine's Day. For my eye makeup I used the same palette as I did in my last fashion post 'A Very Greek Party', but I wanted to make this look less gold and keep it more simple because I knew I was going for the red lip. I patted 'it's complicated' over my eyelid after putting on a thin layer of 'birthday suit' to tone down the gold and give it more of a matte feel. I filled in my crease using a mixed of the darker colours in the palette and just blended that in. I then used the same colours under the eye for definition and dabbed a lighter colour in the corner of my eye and to highlight my brow bone. And finally, I left my hair simple and straight so that I didn't overcomplicate the look.

Here are the links:

A Very Greek Party

Hi everyone!

Yesterday I went to my friend's Classical/Greek/Roman party and it was fancy dress!

So I decided that the colour scheme for my makeup would be a kind of bronzy-gold mix. I used a gold eyeshadow, which I put all over my eye but particulary put a lot in the inner corner of my eye. I smudged some darker brown eyeshadow into the crease of my eye and I  then patted some more bronzey looking eyeshadow just on the centre of my eyelid. After I finished I made sure it was all blended and then I put some light skin toned eyeshadow just on my brow bone to highlight it.

I also decided to plait my hair in two braids to give my look a more exotic feel. Since I didn't have time to curl it or do anything major, I thought it was a perfect way to look like I'd put a bit of effort into my hair even though it took not much time at all!

My look consisted of:

Clothes:

Dress - H and M (old but here is one that I also like - it's a little different but super cheap!)
Sandals - New Look (bought last year so here are some similar ones)
Necklace - (borrowed but here is a similar, gladiatoral statement necklace)

*Just wanted to say sorry my outfit is no longer in the shops but since this was a fancy dress I had to bring out some of my older clothes!

Makeup:

Eyes:

Eyeshadow palette - World Famous Neutrals

Skin:

Concealer - Rimmel Wake Me Up

Brushes:

Hope you like this look!
